John

Major John Treadwell has over 29 years of law enforcement experience. Major Treadwell is currently the police major, operations branch commander for the New Castle County Division of Police, New Castle, Delaware. In this role he coordinates and manages the patrol, special operations, and criminal investigation unit operations and initiatives and collaborates with federal partners to advance law enforcement goals. He has previously served as captain of the Behavioral Health Unit, Special Projects and Technology, and Patrol Section. In addition, he has also previously held ranks as officer, detective, sergeant, and lieutenant. Major Treadwell was a former adjunct professor for the Behavioral Science Department at Wilmington University, New Castle, Delaware. He has received several awards including the Local Jefferson Award, the Omega Psi Phi Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, the National Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award, the Governor’s Compassionate Champion Award, and the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award. Major Treadwell received a master of science degree in administration of justice (police leadership emphasis) from Wilmington University and a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from LaSalle University.
