Tia Hollingshead-Styer

Tia Hollingshead-Styer, a doctor of social work (DSW) and licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), is a dynamic professional with a rich 23-year background in social work, research, program development, and training. Her educational and professional journey has focused on empowering communities, designing effective programs, translating research into practice and integrating specialized clinical treatments into public safety mental health and wellness programs. She enjoys collaborating with public safety departments to build effective wellness programs and strengthen peer support teams across the country. Dr. Hollingshead-Styer has extensive experience across various areas of social work. She has served as a certified Utah crisis worker, played pivotal roles in community crisis intervention, and provided field training for mobile crisis outreach teams. Her work in regional emergency departments highlights her expertise in patient crisis intervention and support for medical professionals. Her diverse experience has given her the privilege of partnering with first responders on the frontlines, using her social work training and experience to enhance their performance and quality of life. As the founder of The Wellness & Empowerment Center in Orem, Utah, Dr. Hollingshead-Styer specializes in working with public safety professionals and their families. Her approach aims to harness individuals’ innate healing capacities, fostering empowerment and resilience through customized mental health treatment protocols. Through her clinic she has been able to mentor and provide advanced education to other therapists in trauma treatments and applying first responder culture to make treatment more effective. As a passionate educator, she is recognized as a subject-matter expert by the Department of Justice, representing the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, and travels the country teaching suicide awareness and prevention to law enforcement personnel. Concurrently, she serves as a professor at a local university.
